2021 UPWARD BASKETBALL UPDATE

We have been contemplating Upward for 2021. The Upward Leadership Team at Northland has talked about several challenges with having the season. Some of those challenges include gym space, enough game and practice times, ability to keep our players/families safe/healthy, and working with Western Hills to make our leagues competitive.

Facilities: Seaman facilities are closed to outside groups and there is no timeline in place for when they might be available to outside groups. NCC’s gym has limited room for spectators/parents and practice times/game days would be an issue for safety/health for players and parents/fans.

Western Hills: Western Hills has made the decision to cancel their season this winter. They are looking at a possibility of clinics and skill videos to be made available to their families. We will consider the same option after the beginning of the year.

Safety/Health for Players/Fans: Due to the small space for fans/parents in our gym, it will be very difficult to keep parents/fans 6 feet apart and players apart, both at games and at practices.

With those things in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2021 Upward Basketball Season at Northland. We are sad to not be able to see all our families this season. We hope to have a 2022 season, so keep watch on the NCC Upward League Facebook page or here on our website for updates on Upward Basketball 2022.

Thanks for participating with us in the past and we hope to see you next season.

UPWARD BASKETBALL

Upward is a Basketball league for children Ages 4 yrs – 6th Grade. Our goal is for children to rise up and grow mentally, athletically, spiritually and socially. Children will be encouraged to have fun, develop skills, play hard and play in such a way that others take notice. We have 1 game and 1 practice per week, equal playing time for all athletes, uniforms for all children are included in the price of the league, devotions at every practice and a family atmosphere at all games and practices.

Be sure to Like our League Facebook Page for updates.
